CEO and Principle Consultant

Hello, and thank you for taking the time to get to know us.

As CEO of Diverse Leaders, I am committed to fostering psychologically safe, inclusive approaches that are trauma informed, honouring lived experience and intersectionality.  This means understanding that trauma is common and can deeply influence how people engage, communicate, and participate at work—often in ways that aren’t immediately visible.  It also means understanding that each person’s identity is shaped by a unique blend of factors such as race, gender, sexuality, disability, and access to resources, which can amplify barriers or create specific challenges, requiring flexible and responsive approaches. Valuing and listening to lived experience, particularly from those who have faced mental health challenges, suicidality, neurodiversity, or marginalization, brings essential insight and wisdom, supporting healing, belonging, and more compassionate, evidence-based innovation. This approach not only enhances wellbeing and performance but also reduces stigma and isolation, driving meaningful change by ensuring every person feels seen, heard, and valued.

With the growth of the Lived Experience workforce, organisations must cultivate environments where all people can safely lead and work without the risk of further trauma. Diverse Leaders was established to champion this vision.

I have worked in community services for decades, working for service providers, as an advocate with Peak Bodies and as a consultant. I have worked in disability, aged care, allied health, youth mental health, retirement living, youth and family services, housing and homelessness, education and LGBTQIA+ support and advocacy, however the majority of my career has been in the community-led mental health sector.

I bring my own intersectional lived experience, navigating the health system, misdiagnosis, outdated treatment options, barriers to care, discrimination, stigma, isolation, family rejection, and other intersectional challenges. While these challenges occurred before and during much of my early career, like many, I felt unable to disclose or to seek reasonable adjustments in the workplace increasingly as I moved into more senior roles.  I felt disappointed that a sector I had so much love for, felt unsafe and increasingly so the closer I got the board room.

These lived experiences have profoundly shaped my commitment to fostering workplaces where everyone feels genuinely safe and valued. I believe in creating environments where people are respected and supported, regardless of whether they choose to share their diversity, illness, trauma, or identity. Everyone deserves to belong, to be seen, and to know that their unique story is not a barrier to being valued or making a difference.

My approach is always inclusive, trauma-informed and evidence-based, and I am skilled in fostering psychologically safe, diverse, and inclusive cultures. I also have a proven track record of developing, implementing and measuring innovative service models, leading multimillion-dollar service and program budgets, and building high-performing teams, while ensuring compliance with rigorous and diverse sector standards.  I hold an MBA, as well as Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees in Psychology, equipping me with a comprehensive understanding of both the business and human dimensions that drive organisational success.
